Using SVGs in OrcaSlicer

Import the downloaded SVG as a modifier when you need clean one-color artwork on a printed surface. For multicolor decals on an existing model, use Apply Image to Model to project a quantized PNG or JPEG directly onto an STL or 3MF and export a colored 3MF.

SVG conversion works best with logos, icons, silhouettes and high-contrast source art. If the source image has soft shadows, JPEG noise or partially transparent pixels, simplify it first so the vector paths represent intentional shapes instead of artifacts.

  • Use black and white mode for one-color modifiers and decals.
  • Use spline simplification when curved logos look too faceted.
  • Use polygon output when the slicer or downstream tool handles straight segments better.
  • Use Apply Image to Model when you need colored 3MF output instead of a one-color SVG modifier.
